Honeywell

Honeywell has been the world's leading provider of control solutions for a variety of industries and consumer products, such as spark plugs and nylon resins, for more than a century. The company employs 125,000 people in 95 countries and operates hundreds of facilities worldwide. As an offshoot of its Six Sigma manufacturing strategy, Honeywell was seeking a more cost-efficient and productive way to produce and manage documents.

The Challenge
Honeywell's challenges included the need to:
  • eliminate stacks of product, marketing, and engineering materials created and stored in a multitude of locations
  • improve access to useful documents
  • cut the enormous cost of printing, storing, and shipping documents
  • reduce order fulfillment time for documents.
The Solution
The Xerox team worked with Honeywell to develop a strategy to:
  • use Xerox's web-based DocuShare® document management solution to immediately address the challenge of document availability, storage, and access
  • provide professional account associates from Xerox Global Services to support Honeywell Printing and Services Centers.
The Results
The Xerox solution produced a number of significant benefits for Honeywell:
  • transformed Honeywell's business operation by making documents readily available via the DocuShare "window of visibility"
  • provided more than 30,000 documents visible through DocuShare; from engineering drawings to literature
  • reduced document storage space requirements by 70% and order fulfillment time by 80%
  • reduced operating costs by roughly 25%.
